How CoParent Circle Free compares
Most "free" co-parenting apps are either time-limited trials, locked behind in-app upgrades, or strip out the records that make the app useful in the first place. Here's an honest read of where the popular alternatives stand:
- OurFamilyWizard: No free plan. About $99/parent/year. Full comparison →
- TalkingParents: Free "Standard" tier exists but limits records and has no shared calendar. Full comparison →
- AppClose: Free, but missing immutable audit log, court-ready reports, and structured professional access. Full comparison →
FAQ
Is CoParent Circle really free?
Yes. The Free plan has no time limit, no credit card required, and includes the calendar, messaging, basic expenses, and document vault for one Circle. Pro and Family add unlimited professional access and the full audit log, but the Free plan is genuinely useful on its own.
What's the catch?
Free has limits — 50 expense entries, 1 GB of documents, one court report per month — and doesn't include the full audit log or unlimited professional access. Plenty of co-parents use Free for years. If you need attorney access or you generate court reports regularly, Pro is built for that.
Does the other parent have to pay?
No. Free plans only need one account. If you upgrade to Pro, you pay per parent. The Family plan ($24/month flat) covers both parents and any additional household members under one subscription.
Are the records on the Free plan still court-defensible?
Yes. The evidentiary properties — immutable history, timestamps, chain-of-custody on exports — are identical across all plans. The Free plan just limits how many exports per month you can generate.
